Nov. 15th, 2010 01:08 amIt had been a long day in Engineering. There'd been a lot to catch up on, and although catching up meant letting paperwork pile up, Scotty had decided that she didn't really care. The engine was more important. Of course, that meant that when she was done with her shift, she had a load of paperwork to do, because God forbid she let herself fall behind. She still had to prove that she belonged here, that she was capable of being Chief of Engineering. And that, unfortunately, meant making some sacrifices. No socializing at dinner tonight, not for her.
She settled down in a corner of the mess hall with a cup of coffee and a plate of something that was at least more palatable than what she'd been reduced to on Delta Vega, and set to work, praying that she'd at least make a dent in the pile. Dinner went forgotten and mostly uneaten, and she'd only managed to drink half her coffee before it went cold.
